President Obama’s plans to reduce carbon emissions by increasing fuel efficiency standards in the United States have sparked a heated debate. On the one hand reduced fuel consumption means less dangerous greenhouse gas emissions, and will help create a cleaner environment. But on the other it could prove to be a big ask for the US car industry, which is already struggling with the recession.
Allowing each state to impose its own standards for fuel efficiency will encourage reduced carbon emissions and is a long overdue first step by the US towards dealing with global warming. The issue was largely ignored by the Bush administration, though many people, including fellow republicans like California’s governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have been campaigning for these changes for a long time.

Saturn SC2 is the short name from the sports coupe level of the first division of Saturn vehicles produced at the beginning of the 90s. The introduction of the S Series by General Motors came a marketing stratagem to lower the influence of the Japanese cars on the American market. After Saturn SC2 became a market hit, Japan and Taiwan actually began imports of these vehicles on their markets, which only proves that the reputation GM got for the Saturn S Series was not void of content. In the years following the release, no improvements have been made to Saturn SC2, upgrades appeared as late as 1999.

The impressive sales of Saturn Aura allowed for this mid-sized car to get in the top of the best cars produced by General Motors. The popularity of the concept became apparent in 2006 when it was made public at the New York Auto Show, and though it was meant as a replacement for the Saturn L-series, Saturn Aura brings a breath of fresh air to the entire Saturn collection. The result of this new direction is market preference for American cars instead of European imports particularly since in recent years the focus has fallen on the latter in the United States. Saturn Aura thus rivals with its distant relative: the European Opel Vectra.

Whilst all the fuss surrounding the brand new Ford Fiesta is going on, the savvy and economically minded amongst us have spotted the ideal opportunity to bag ourselves a recession-busting bargain. Anyone who is seriously considering buying a Ford Fiesta in the not-too-distant future is automatically going to hone in on the brand new model. These people are missing out on one of the greatest money-saving bargains available on the car market, but it’s certainly not one that I am going to turn my nose up at.

The Audi logo with the circles always reminds me of that magic trick magicians do, you know the one where they link a few separate solid metal rings together into a chain. As a child I could never work out how they did it, and now I’m finding I’m wondering the same thing about Audi and their equally impressive methods of staying afloat in the recession.
At a time when the bulk of the car industry is on its knees, I’m sure I’m seeing more Audi TT’s on the roads than ever. I’m sure it’s not my imagination – suddenly it seems everyone is driving these swanky upmarket cars, in spite of the obvious financial issues.

It seems that it is quite a sensible move to buy a second hand car. There is no reason why they should not be reliable if you buy them from a trusted source or do your homework thoroughly on the car before you commit to buying. It also makes excellent financial sense in that as soon as a new car is driven off the forecourt it starts to lose money, but a second-hand car has already made this loss.
