V10 Audi R8. The one to have

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Audi has truly outdone itself this time, no longer can Audi be considered the bridesmaid among the super-car brands – that’s right step aside Porsche, step aside Lamborghini – there could be a whole new bride in town.

The Audi team has really stepped up the latest version of their R8 to be viable competition with the other big boys on the circuit. With the V10 rated at 525 horse power, we are talking serious power. However Audi has taken the trouble of making the car very easy to drive.

Is it really viable to own a car at the moment?

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Over the last few of weeks the UK has been hit with some of the most extreme weather we’ve seen in ages. The first week of February brought the heaviest snowfall we’ve seen for 18 years, causing schools to close and leaving over 6 million people unable to get to work. Most public transport was disrupted or cancelled completely, and many roads were deemed unsafe due to the icy conditions and closed off.

The best Golf Yet. 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTI

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Its is diffucult to improve on an already popular car and could VW make the the ever more irrestible?  How about more power, better fuel economy and a sportier look?

The 2010 incarnation of the VW Golf GTI packs ten more horsepower than the previous version (210 in all), but cranks out the higher power while being even more economical on fuel.  It’s estimated that the 2010 Golf GTI will get in excess of thirty miles to the gallon (probably about thirty-two) and still be able to amp up from zero to sixty in less than seven seconds.  It’s estimated the new Golf GTI will top out at close to one hundred and fifty miles an hour, and while it’s not tops in its class in terms of power, that is a pretty good punch for a car that’s so economical.

The Difference between Essential Car Insurance Coverage

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Car insurance coverage can seem very confusing but once you understand what different types there are it should not be too hard. In addition to the primary coverage, there are other types you can add on to your policy, such as liability, medical coverage, bodily injury, collision coverage, property or rental coverage, just to name a few. However, for the most part there are two main types of car insurance coverage that a person really needs. In fact, it is a law to have car insurance coverage throughout most of the United States.

So you want to start looking for a new car but can’t seem to make your finances stretch far enough? Or perhaps you’ve already seen the car of your dreams, but know you’ll never be able to afford it. You’re not alone – the motoring industry has been hit hardest of all by the recession and sales have reached an all time low. It seems that no one can afford to think about purchasing a new car right now.

Volkswagen Golf – Is It As Cool As You Think?

Friday, March 13th, 2009

It is a common held belief that the Volkswagen Golf is the epitome of a cool car; style, performance and an impressive history all firmly place it in a very favourable light with the general public. Since its introduction in 1974 the Golf has walked that precarious tightrope of great motoring, but at a reasonable price. When I put some thought into it though, I can’t help but question the Golf’s credibility. Let me take you through my thinking and see if I can convince you.

Why I Bought A Used Ford Focus

Friday, March 13th, 2009

These days it is a commonly held opinion that buying products based entirely on sentiment is probably a bad idea. For example, I’m sure everyone at some point, whilst leafing through the racks in a music shop, has stumbled upon a ‘gem’ from the past. I’m definitely not the only person who has shelled out hard-earned money on an absolute stinker of an album based purely on the fact it was part of a parent’s vinyl collection which proved to be entertaining as a child. In the spirit of honesty, the album in question was Wings Greatest Hits…and yes, I am ashamed. However, whilst looking for a used car a few months ago, my mind was lured back to my childhood. My Dad was a big Ford fan; updating to the latest model Escort or Sierra every couple of years or so. So naturally, the first idea to pop into my head was, “I know, I’ll buy a Ford”. If I were to let sentiment completely over-rule my better judgment I would have scanned the pages of Autotrader for an 1987 Escort LX 1.6. I’m not that sentimental though.

Do I buy or lease my next car?

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Some people choose to purchase our vehicles and some of us choose to lease them. The question is which is best choice to take, car leasing or car buying?

Look upon a vehicle lease like a long term rental. You do not really own the vehicle and at the end of the lease you will then return it and pay any end of lease cost that is due, to complete your contract.

The new BMW Z4 2009

Monday, March 9th, 2009

This is the model many hope will bring BWM back to its glory days as the leader in admirable car design and sex appeal. Sure Chris Bangle’s vision of designs might have been misunderstood. Perhaps the designs were too futuristic, too sophisticated and too sexy in a way that confused an average BWM fan. The cars still delivered on the promise of “Sheer Driving Pleasure” the only issue being the driver wished dearly for better looks.
