Joining the number of Car manufacturers that have been concerned for the growing demand for environment friendly cars, German car manufacturing giant BMW has announced that they too would soon be producing and selling Hybrid cars. The popular hybrid car will emerge within the next 4 years from BMW, as they will be providing their own version on the car.
Knowing the many innovations and excellent qualities BMW has contributed to the motor world, we can be sure that this will be another automotive engineering breakthrough that will set the par others will follow.
BMW said that their BMW Hybrid car would run on both Hydrogen and petroleum and this would be first infused in the 7 series BMW. Already, BMW has some of these cars test driven in different countries. Engineers and researchers are testing and seeking feedback to refine their 1st hybrid auto release. BMW doesn’t want to release just a beautiful looking car, they want one that will be truly environment friendly as well as performing beautifully.
BMW has decided to incorporate the use of hydrogen fuel in combination with gasoline to design their hybrid powerhouse. This is different from other hybrid car manufactures tht use fuel cells. This led to more research and development needed because of the demand of the engine to keep the hydrogen in liquid form, and this poses as a problem in keeping them cold enough to do just that. If the engine becomes too hot, the hydrogen may evaporate requiring frequent fill ups. Another quandary is keeping the hydrogen from evaporating while in transit to the engine. However BMW has claimed that they have found a remedyn to this dilema.
BMW sees hydrogen as the solution, but it would take about two more decades before a car can actually be run by hydrogen only. However they are optimistic that this can be achieved.
For the last 30 years BMW has claimed to be developing the technology that could lead to the very first true hybrid automobile. They already are able to retrieve hydrogen from sunlight and they also have a car that transmits steam at the tail pipe.
Since the current emissions from autos are contributing to the environmental pollution, BMW is focusing on hydrodgen as its main source of energy to power cars. Hydrogen will not use up natural resources because it is recyclable also dangerous pollutants will not be transmitted into the atmosphere. This is BMW’s answer, hydrogen powered automobiles with hydrogen created from H2o as a result of energy from the sun. This technology advancement became evident in 2000 when the BMW 750hl auto was presented at the Expo 2000. BMW could well be the forefront in hybrid technology but they may be behind in the production of hybrid car on a mass scale.
Soon enough, we will all be the beneficiaries of all of these developments and innovations. Then we will be able to save more money on fuel costs and at the same time help the enironment. Riding in small cars with reduced engine power does not translate into hybrid car. If you want to help clean up our air, get great gas milage, save money then you might consider the BMW auto which will soon be unveiled.
