Women don’t enjoy walking around big parking lots in government car auctions surrounded by sellers that regard them with superiority or don’t bother answering their questions. Some seller still live in medieval times, and think that women will never buy a car, not only because they don’t have the money, but also because they don’t need it. Women who still buy from car auctions escape all these nasty looks by bringing a male acquaintance along and asking him to place bids for them, on cars they want to buy.

Sure they do. You will find anything in local car auctions, from full throttle cars to un-driveable junks. They don’t say in vain that someone’s junk is other’s treasure. Some people buy defected cars, cars that took part in driving accidents or old cars that are beyond repair and they use them for spare parts or transform them altogether into new and exciting driving temptations. But there are also people that do not dispose of a big budget and they only want a cheap car, even if it’s damaged, a car they can repair later, when they get the money.

Used Car Sales Outperform New Buys

As new car sales see as sharp drop off in their numbers, used vehicle auctioneers are having a better time of it any have been announcing growing volumes of used cars coming through their doors.

The new car market is clearly not in a good way. Production is down at all the major car manufacturers and lay offs have been announced across the board. The luxury car market has also been hit, with Bentley announcing job losses last month. Official figures show a 30.9% fall in new car registrations in January as compared to the previous year according to the Society of Motor Manufactures. 1974 was the last time there was a fall of this scale and there looks to be continuation of this trend in the new future. 3 years is the predicted length for the slump in car sales according to many industry analysts.
