Okay so we haven’t quite got to that stage yet but we are slowly getting to the point where getting a solar powered car is going to be possible. At the moment there is already something out there that could really help out your car battery and your fuel costs too. The worst thing about air con is that it not only wears down your car battery but it also slowly brings down the fuel count as well.

Friday, July 31st, 2009When it comes to buying new cars, a lot of people fall in to one of two groups – those who don’t particularly care about the car itself, and will be looking for the cheapest option or the least likely to break down, and petrol heads who want the fastest, sleekest, coolest car they can find. ‘Green’ cars, designed to be more fuel efficient and produce less or no carbon emissions, have never really fallen into either group. Yes it’s nice to think you could make a difference with the car you drive, but let’s face it these environmentally friendly cars just aren’t capable of performing as well as their petrol-powered counterparts, and they usually cost a lot more too.
Fuel saving laws could change the future of motoring
Sunday, March 29th, 2009President Obama’s plans to reduce carbon emissions by increasing fuel efficiency standards in the United States have sparked a heated debate. On the one hand reduced fuel consumption means less dangerous greenhouse gas emissions, and will help create a cleaner environment. But on the other it could prove to be a big ask for the US car industry, which is already struggling with the recession.
Allowing each state to impose its own standards for fuel efficiency will encourage reduced carbon emissions and is a long overdue first step by the US towards dealing with global warming. The issue was largely ignored by the Bush administration, though many people, including fellow republicans like California’s governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have been campaigning for these changes for a long time.
